2012 the Year of the Nintendo 3DS?

The 3DS has been out in the US for almost a full year. Most of that year was crap for us gamers. When the system first released there really wasn't any games worth buying. Actually the first few months there were hardly any new games released at all. A lot of publishers cancelled or postponed games do to poor hardware sales. Eventually in the summer some good games were released(Zelda and Star Fox). Plus the Nintendo eshop was finally up and running. Then the almighty Mario games came out, and the system started selling very well(thanks to a price cut).

Now 2012 is here, and it looks like it could be promising for the 3DS. With the system finally selling publishers are releasing more good games. There are actually a lot of games slated for this year, but I will only name a few.

Resident Evil Revelations (Capcom)
Kid Icarus: Uprising (Nintendo)
Metal Gear Solid: Snake Eater 3D (KONAMI)
Mario & Sonic at the London 2012 Olympic Games (SEGA)
PAC-MAN Party 3D (NAMCO BANDAI Games S.A.S.)
TEKKEN 3D Prime Edition (NAMCO BANDAI Games S.A.S.)
Mutant Mudds (Renegade Kid)
Mario Tennis (Nintendo)
Luigi's Mansion 2 (Nintendo)
Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance (Square Enix)
Monster Hunter Tri (Capcom)
Plus possibly 2 mores Mario games!

Now I don't plan to play all of the games listed above, but these all have the potential to be good games and good system sellers. Keep in mind that is only a small selection of what's coming out this year. If Nintendo and publishers can spread these games out 3DS gamers could have something to buy every month. I'm hopeful that 2012 could be the year of the 3DS.
